Are Humans evil ?

Do you realize we treat animals like they are in Hell ? In the Factory Slaughter houses ? Imagine being raised in a small cage 3 feet by 3 feet with 6 other chickens ? Or if you like Veal being raised in a pen where you can’t move your entire 6 months of life, I think this is evil how we treat animals, that is why I am for free range animals, at least they get to run around and have fun before they get killed.

I don’t think most people are evil, just ignorant of the cruelty that goes on toward animals.

  2. I’ve only met a couple of evil people. Most of the nastiness I see is the result of gross ignorance and stupidity. On the other hand, aside from us, I don’t think there are creatures capable of evil.

  3. I think that most people are cruel to animals while very few realise that they suffer pain and fear just the way humans do. If you think about the pain caused by humans to other humans as well as animals, then you could say that humans have the potential to do evil acts (as well as good acts). I don’t think that they’re evil by some innate kind of nature, but they certainly have the ability to do terrible things.

  4. I think your question is interesting… especially since you have related the evilness of humanity to the way we treat animals. My husband and I raise free-range organic chickens purely for our own health benefits (and the benefit of those who buy them). Although I am opposed to the way many animals are treated and agree with you that their lives are miserable, I don’t think (as another responder indicated) that animals suffer in the same way as humans. They cannot think the way we can– they do not perceive life as we do. Although their suffering IS evil, there is a much GREATER evil in human suffering. With this in mind I would encourage animal rights activists to instead focus their energies on HUMAN rights– there are so many suffering, abused, neglected children in this world! SO many people who go hungry, who die of cureable diseases! Much good could be done if people– starting with myself– would focus their energy on helping other people. At the risk of stepping on some toes, I would also like to suggest that by neglecting a greater good for the purpose of devoting our energies to a lesser good we are committing an evil deed. Some things are simply more important than other things.
As to your initial question, “are humans evil”?, I must say that honestly i don’t know. I think we have good intentions, but, we nearly always fall short of realizing them. And it seems that the evil intentions are far too easily achieved. So now you have my 2 cents, for what it’s worth! :O)
