I heard that hens can retain sperm for a lifetime after one mating until all her eggs are laid. I want to have furtile eggs but since I have various breeds I really don’t want to have to keep a rooster for each bred all the time. Right now I have 4 roosters crowing all day long.
I have a heating pad and ive read up on candling, handling etc. It seems to have been laid today, but i dont have an incubator; or the heart to just toss it. Any suggestions?? ( i have the heating pad)
OK let me add a little extra info here, im not doing anything illegal: its from a domesticated goose who cant fly after abuse from the owner that was released into my lake. Ive left the last eggs alone and they just ended up at the bottom of the lake or smushed. I can care for the animal, im not being unrealistic. Simple advice on how to go about this or if there is a better way would be nice. Not some smartass comment or a show of legality. I know the law on wild geese (not stupid) But thanks for the extra info about deformities, some info on how to go about it so there wont be any deformities would be nice.
My Cockatiels laid 4 eggs, 1 hatched last Friday.The other eggs are still there.How long before I remove them?
Almost two weeks back a Pigeon built a nest on a floor corner of our balcony between some big pebbles. As far as I know that they take around 14-18 days to hatch. She was always laying on top of the two egs since then as expected.
Three days back she just left the eggs unhatched for no obvious reason! I am not sure what to do from there? what if they hatch? would another Pigeon feed them? did she felt they are dead for some reason and left? when should i through them away?
We had a BlueBird nest in our backyard that is until our cat killed the mother! 
we have beenwatching the mother Bluebird and my mom was afraid the cat would get her. We have an incubator that we hatch baby ducks and chicks. my mom put the mothers nest in our incubator. i was just wondering if they could be hatched.

im looking for a chicken to get that doesnt get desieases and is very hardy because chickens that i have recently had died of a desiease the vet said something about that they were pure breeds so they get more desieases. one of my chickens lived and she’s a rhode island red the vet said she ,ust be hybrid. so basacilly what breed of the chicken is the hardest?
